Australia's Grandest Lolly Shop Destroyed By Fire
The Echuca Heritage Sweet Company was destroyed by fire on the night of 19th April 2007. The devastation caused by the fire was felt by the entire community as the premises was one of the original buildings in the heritage part of the town. Caused by an electrical fault the fire took hold of the largely timber premises and left nothing but a charred shell that had to be demolished due to the safety concerns of local government officials.
On the 18th July 2007 the Echuca Heritage Sweet Company re-opened at 630 High Street, just 100 meters north of the destroyed site with the same friendly service and great products.
Construction of the new building is now finished! On the 22nd December 2007 we re-opened and the new shop looks as good as it did before. We once again have a wonderful range of Australian, English, Dutch and European confectionery. A must for customers seeking a low sugar alternative is the enormous range of sugar free confectionery. The largest range of sugar free confectionery outside of major captial cities you will not be disappointed.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Grandest Lolly Shop in Australia.
